VAMOS A LA PLAYA

(Lets go to the Beach!) travels along a 9 mile stretch of freeway in northern Mexico City. This site was chosen because the freeway is located above an existing river, and this area is home to a poor community in the city. Mexico City’s nearest beach is located 4.5 hours away in Acapulco beach, and many residents can’t afford to go to this tourist destination because they make less than $2 an hour. This intervention provides a mobile beach  for the residents in this area and anyone that come into its path. It also contains a car wash to provide a service for the commuters. Vamos a la Playa is supplied by the water from the river and recycling of the water within its program.
